Barmy Army Heads to Trinidad England v West Indies Cricket Test Match in Trinidad

The stunning Caribbean island of Trinidad is playing host to the last in a series of five-day test matches between England and the West Indies from 6-10 March 2009.  All eyes will be on the matches in Trinidad as England look to regain their form.

In addition, the only international Twenty20 match of the series will also take place in Trinidad on Sunday 15th March.  The two matches will take place at the Queen’s Park Oval stadium in Trinidad’s capital city, Port of Spain.  Trinidad is home to one of the largest cricket grounds in the Caribbean and is overlooked by the stunning hills to the North of the island.

Trinidad & Tobago is steeped in cricket tradition with Brian Lara featured amongst it’s sporting heroes. The atmosphere for the games will be authentically Caribbean, in a setting that is among the liveliest in test cricket series.

The islands are home to carnival, calypso and steel bands. After the match, cricket fans can chill out on the white sand beaches or venture into the rainforest or swamp to be at one with the wildlife. In addition to cricket, the neighbouring island of Tobago offers two championship 18 hole golf courses for the sporting traveller as well as various water sports, such as diving and game fishing.
