The Coco Reef Resort – Tobago has long been
a preferred destination for the Rich and Famous. They visit
for the outstanding Restaurants and Bars, and for those lucky
enough to stay in the hotel the joy of experiencing the captivating
ambience and unrivaled service which has made Coco Reef the
recipient of so many awards.
Last week Jon Bon Jovi joined that list of Superstars.
After visiting the hotel’s website he decided that the
Resort, with its beautiful white sand beach and translucent
waters, would be the perfect stopping off point on his way
home from a fantastically successful South American Tour.
Bon Jovi, one of the world’s most famous
and successful Rock Bands with hits throughout the eighties,
nineties and today, graced Tobago with a short visit last
week. The band and crew arrived by private jets in the early
hours of the morning, necessitating the special opening of
Tobago’s Crown Point International Airport.
This landing was only made possible by the intervention
of The Secretary for Tourism, The Honourable Neil Wilson who
graciously facilitated the arrangements. The group who arrived
at 3.00am, were given a true warm Tobagonian welcome by staff
executives from the Coco Reef, led by Marketing Director Añeila
Gonzalez. The group was quickly transported to the Resort
in the Hotel’s 1959 Rolls Royce Silver Shadow.
Jon Bon Jovi was accommodated in the Resort’s
exclusive Sunset Villa the amenities of which includes a private
tropical garden, two exquisite marble bathrooms complete with
Jacuzzis and an 800 square foot deck that is suspended over
the waters of the Caribbean Sea.
Sunset Villa has long been a favourite of Superstars
and Divas, including Sylvester Stallone, Michael Caine, Elton
John, Dianne Ross, and Gladys Knight, among many others.
