TDC hosts TTTIC Sensitization Seminar for Accommodation Providers

The Tourism Development Company Ltd (TDC) hosted a seminar on the Trinidad and Tobago Tourism Industry Certification (TTTIC) for local accommodation providers on June 9th and 10th.
Aimed at informing accommodation providers on the requirements for TTTIC, the seminars attracted a large turnout of representatives from local hotels, guesthouses and bed and breakfast properties. Yannicka Brown, Trinidad and Tobago Bureau of Standards (TTBS) Standards Officer I, delivered an informative presentation, which included an overview of tourism certification and standards, implementation of TTTIC and the certification process. TTTIC is intended to improve and standardise the quality of Trinidad and Tobago’s Tourism products.

VHL TOBAGO GOLF & SPA RESORT

Tobago’s largest hotel formerly known as the Hilton Tobago Golf & Spa Resort, the T&T government announced a grant of TT$45 million towards restoration of the hotel. The hotel closed in November 2008 and was expected to open later in 2009, after the renovations had been completed.
