Trinidad and Tobago
June - 2008

Dear Travel agent

Welcome to June version of Panjibe newsletter from Trinidad & Tobago

Summer has finally arrived and we have had days with temperatures feeling like the Caribbean. We enjoy it every day and cross fingers this will the weather all summer.

But do remember that Trinidad & Tobago is outside the Hurricane belt, and is a fantastic destination both summer and winter. If you want an adventurous and true Caribbean experience we can only recommend a holiday in Trinidad & Tobago.

Our people are as diverse and eclectic as our Islands with a history dating back to African, Indian, European, Chinese and Middle Eastern ancestry, allowing us to celebrate old traditions whilst embracing new customs. Expect calm Caribbean waters, surging Atlantic surf, white-sand palm fringed beaches and soaring rainforests. We have ecosystems ranging from coral reefs to wetlands to open savannahs, all home to such flora and fauna as rare and exotic orchids to the iridescent humming birds and the giant leatherback turtle.
Well recognised for our cuisine, you can sample Caribbean and Latin American Fusion, East Indian, Chinese, French, Italian, Syrian-Lebanese, all with an undeniable flavour of Trinidad & Tobago.

This newsletter gives you updates on what is happening in Trinidad & Tobago, and do have a look once in a while on the website www.panjibe.com which is dedicated to travel agents to gain information about our beautiful islands. If you know anyone who wants to receive the newsletter just send us the e-mail and we will add it to the list. We recommend you also to check out www.gotrinidadandtobago.com , there is a lot of information, videos and pictures, and excellent to recommend for your clients travelling to our islands. New this year is our online training program on www.learnTNT.com , register online, read through the modules and take the tests after each module. You will have a welcome pack sent to you when you have gone through the whole training. Any questions – please contact us by phone or e-mail.

Plymouth Jazz festival Tobago 2008 was yet another success this year with super stars like Diana Ross, Rod Stewart, Shakira, Whitney Houston, En Vogue, James Ingram, Smokey Robinson and Steel Pulse. It was a 3-days party at Plymouth Recreational Ground with over 10 000 visitors every day. There will be photos from the festival at our photo gallery for you to browse through.  Remember Jazz festival is 3rd weekend in April every year.

Since May 16th Hilton has withdrawn their brand from Hilton Golf and Spa Resort. The hotel will be renovated step by step and will be operative during the time, and will welcome guests all summer.  A new brand name is due to come in autumn.

Airlift has been changed a bit this summer and coming winter. Martinair left us April 1st but we have still many possibilities to arrive to Trinidad & Tobago. Condor is flying every Sunday, out of Frankfurt with connections of LH from Nordic Countries. From Nov 9th – April 26th they will do only Tobago, so we will have 274 seats to sell. They will be more open for allotments as well.

Virgin Atlantic and British Airways flies out of Gatwick that demands an overnight and change of airport on the way out – but have same day connection but need change of airport on their way home. Check even the possibilities if clients wants 2 tickets and then use airlift into Gatwick, overnight and with Virgin Atlantic you can even check in luggage evening you arrive at Gatwick, and have an easy morning when you depart for Tobago.

A new possibility is Continental airlines, from Finland you fly via Amsterdam with KLM and connect from AMS to Newark and further to Port of Spain. It is a same day connection and possible to have stop over in New York, great way to spend your holiday with shopping in Manhattan and swimming in Tobago!

In JULY and AUGUST Continental is flying every day from Newark to Port of Spain, Trinidad with flights to connect to Tobago. This gives the possibilities to tailor make the holiday of their dreams to your clients.

We do hope you find this newsletter useful and it helps you book more guest to Trinidad & Tobago, If you need any more information please contact us at e-mail trinbago@spirit-company.dk or phone: +45 3337 7292
